Month in Review: June 2017

We've had a busy spring here at Alloy.  With the advent of some good weather we're moving ahead with summer construction.  We also have some big plans and adventures in the works.

Under construction

Kensington Laneway House

Our Kensington Laneway House is coming along nicely. Exteriors are nearing completion. We've installed beautiful clear cedar cedar soffit to complement the black metal siding and pure white stucco. Inside, our friends at Ateliers Jacob are installing the custom cabinetry and other millwork.

Hounsfield Heights House

We're just about done.  Just a bit of landscaping left to complete!  Look for some photos of the completed home in our Portfolio in the next couple of months.

Rosedale House

Landscaping continues at our Rosedale House.  After a couple of seasons the initial plantings have matured and we’ve unleashed our landscapers’ creativity on the unique built-in planter box beneath the great room windows.  The columnar aspen has taken advantage of the tree well in the front eaves and has doubled in height since last spring!  We're getting everything ready for a photo shoot with Avenue Magazine that'll be published in October or November 2017.  Stay tuned for updates.

Alloy in the Press

We're featured in an Avenue Magazine article this month focusing on the latest trends in kitchen renovation. Read it here.

Alloy Homes co-founder Christopher Lemke is competing in the prestigious Transpac Yacht Race from Los Angeles to Honolulu with his crew aboard the Hobie 33 sailboat "Dark Star". We're certain that after two weeks at sea with four guys in close quarters he'll have a whole new perspective on making the best use of space in our homes.

You can read more about the adventures of Dark Star in the National Post or the Calgary Herald. You can also follow his progress on the Glenmore Sailing Club website.

First Aid Training

At Alloy we take safety seriously. As part of our push towards SECOR certification for the company we've all been updating our CPR/First Aid training.  Notwithstanding the image below, we've also been trained to assist adults!

ENVIROS Golf tournament

Alloy was a proud sponsor of a hole at the Jann Arden Invitational Golf Classic for Enviros. It's a great opportunity to give back and support an organization that does important work in our community. Enviros is a not for profit social services agency that provides therapeutic programs to families, children and adults struggling with behavioural challenges, addiction and mental health issues.
